It’s the end of an era for the venerable photography company. Once a force to be reckoned with in the fields of snaphsots, Kodak has just been through the ringer, filing for bankruptcy and having to drastically restructure their divisions.

While they’re still busy suing Samsung for anything they can imagine, the company will in the mean time have to cease making cameras, dropping out of the business entirely.

So say goodbye to point and shoot cameras, digital photo-frames and anything else with a chip inside of it, while the future of their printers and photography outlets is still unclear. Production is scheduled to cease in the first half of this year.

I’m going to miss the iconic photography company, as despite their hardware having a noticeable lack of quality or polish in recent years. Still, it’s their classic range of film cameras that I’ll always remember fondly, and look back on with war memories.

Maybe one day, I’ll even be able to afford a digital camera.
