If the name Tesla rings any bells, then you’re either thinking of a brilliant inventor who had all his great ideas stolen and besmirched by Thomas Edison, or a sporty little electric car that was named after the brilliant engineer.
The electric car manufacturer has been busy in recent years, and with the planet sorely in need of vehicles that aren’t sucker-punching the environment, they’ve been looking at new forms of transport using some good old AC/DC.
It’s the third vehicle that the car maker has designed and built, and it’s an SUV that goes by the original name of Model X. It’s got falcon wing rear doors, to make getting into the vehicle easier, while the AWD dual engine and drivetrain means that it can go from 0-60 Mph in 4.4 seconds.
It’s a seven-seater vehicle, and will cost American consumers anywhere from between $50 000 to $70 000, with mass production scheduled to begin in 2014.
Kinda resembles a Delorean on steroids though.
